Fierce, gripping and bold, Nine Months is a lacerating response to the all-too-familiar culture of 'Mummy Blogs', helicopter parents and 'parental correctness'. The plot centres around a young Brooklyn mother who finds herself unexpectedly pregnant - for the third time. Throwing caution and responsibility to the wind, she abandons her husband and kids and takes off on a wild cross-country road trip. A punchy and daring page-turner, Nine Months is sure to generate attention and possibly even controversy among young mothers and parenting bloggers.

I devoured this book, but I'm still not sure how I feel about it. The main character, Sonia, is impulsive, sometimes dangerously so, and there's a lot of craziness lived and remembered during her spur-of-the-moment road trip. It's not a comfortable read by any means; it's alternately funny, shocking, disgusting, and sad. But it has the feel of truth to it.

Side note: I do wish there weren't so many typos. Copy editing errors always jump out at me.
