Really enjoyed this film!! The mix of physical action, special effects, gadgetry, etc was appropriate for a spy film in this day and age. I didn't think it was over the top. And to add a homage to the James Bond movies of old, the ending was great. Even though in this day and age it would be inappropriate. I would definitely would watch it again.

Just more banal comic book type of action with a few high profile stars thrown in. Should delight teenage boys or people with that mentality.

Crazy, over-the-top ultra violent fun!!!

I get what they were trying to do with a spy movie spoof. Good idea. Had potential to be a classic. Unfortunately they missed.

Brilliant goes up in the ranks with Wild Target and The man from UNCLE!

This is a fun, fast, and stylish spy sort-of-spoof. My biggest peeve was with Samuel L. Jackson as the villain. I didn't like him at all (and I normally quite like SLJ). His stupid lisp, dumb had, and his overall performance was just wrong, in my opinion, and dragged the movie down. On the plus side, the fight scenes were cool and a bit different. Worth a look but don't expect a modern James Bond kind of film. It's more of a 70s-era Roger Moore Bond type film.

Note for Toronto folk: You can briefly see University Avenue in Toronto in one of the riot scenes fairly late in the move.

I can (sometimes) appreciate a good old action movie where the plots don't add up, which I was in the mood for when I picked this up...I have to say it delivers a whopping 3 mins of action (church scene) and nothing else. The one star is rewarded for Colin Firth's unfailing good looks.

This film has some truth, but it is shocking to watch. There is a reason it is rated R. Some radical environmentalist do think that the only way to save the planet is to reduce the human population by 20%. Brain implants do exist. The chips were created in the 50's and first implanted in orphaned children. It was called the 'Bluebird Project'. The Manchurian Candidate followed. The wi-fi cell sim card was plausible. It is an abomination of the Holy Spirit. The Church scene was a horrifying result of the mark of the beast.

This film is not for all--some adult Christians may find it too offensive.

The last half hour ruined a somewhat decent action movie. It had good fights, a ok story and a AMAZING soundtrack. The Church scene was shockingly violent. But why that ending? It was a joke.

The premise was good - we are all prone to violence on some level - but not as well developed in the main character. The family bully and wife beater needed to get his recompense and be thrown into jail to top it off, but got off fairly lightly. It was over the top in violent "entertainment" in the rest of the movie and I felt violated and defiled throughout - the language reflected our total human degradation. Senseless rear-end of an ending as well ... but maybe that was the point for this kind of human pollution.

My original quotes have gone missing, but there are plenty good one in IMDb:

Harry Hart: [Quoting Ernest Hemingway] There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.

Harry Hart: Since 1849, Kingsman Tailors have clothed the world's most powerful individuals. In 1919, a great number of them had lost their heirs to World War I. That meant a lot of money going uninherited. And a lot of powerful men with the desire to preserve peace and protect life. Our founders realized that they could channel that wealth and influence for the greater good. And so began our adventure. An independent international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion. Without the politics and bureaucracy that undermine the intelligence of government-run spy organisations. A suit is the modern gentleman's armour. And the Kingsman agents are the new knights.
