Music to make you feel good! I love Lizzo's popular songs on the radio, and her album did not disappoint. It's a good one to turn up with your windows down.
Such an amazing album! So full of power and talent and overall great messages! Love this so much!
OMG this album is so awesome Lizzo is a birrilant sing/songwriter and everyone should listen/watch her sing. #lizzoforlife #truth hurts #juice
Check out her Tiny Desk concert or, as she calls it, "Tiny Ass Desk."
#WORDTOLIZZO !!! Absolutely LOVE her!
This album is well outside of my usual genre, but I love it. I'm usually not a fan of R&B, rap, or mainstream pop music--but what I am a fan of are strong vocals and sharp lyrics, which Lizzo supplies in abundance.
This album is on fire from from start to finish. Lizzo's lyrics, rhymes, and music are fresh and unique from song to song. Tempo, featuring Missy Elliott is this early 2000s high school teen's nostalgic favorite. You cannot deny Lizzo's breakout hit Juice isn't amazing in the course of the full album. Other favorites without looking at the playlist are: Boys, the album title song Cuz I Love You, Better in Color, and Exactly How I Feel. So now that I've named almost half the album as amazing just listen to it. It will blow your mind.
Lizzo is an up-and-coming artist, and she definitely brings something new to the table. She has a certain flare she puts into all of her music which really makes it feel different and fresh. All of the songs on this album scream confidence, so "Cuz I Love You" is a great album to listen to when you need a confidence boost. This album is loud and has good vibes that make you feel like you're on top of the world! Although Lizzo is talented, her style fits a specific taste in music. If fast-paced pop/rap aren't your thing, then this album might not be for you. This kind of music is usually not my type, but strangely enough, I found myself dancing along by the second track! The album runs for just over 33 minutes, so it's quite short for an album in my books. All things considered, I give "Cuz I Love You" a 4/5! @peraltiago4ever of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
This major-label debut is easily one of the best projects of 2019 and that’s been shown through the monumental success not only the album has acquired but also Lizzo being the most exciting breakthrough for an artist this year. The big thesis of this album is internalized and externalized confidence—so much so that the music can feel like a means to a greater end. It infuses pop, jazz, blues, funk, soul, r&b, gospel and hip hop all so seamlessly, making a very diverse yet cohesive sound-bed. Lizzo scored her first Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 with the track on the album “Truth Hurts”. On some of my favourite tracks like “Cuz I Love You” and the naming-and-shaming “Jerome,” she bellows from somewhere deep within expressing powerfully of the things she was ashamed of. As well as “Like a Girl” and “Soulmate”, both dauntless, empowered and fueled by her soulful alerting voice looking for self-satisfaction and identification. If you’re looking for that loud and proud summer pop anthem, try Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You which is the same or even better; self-love in the form of soul-pop perfection. 4.5/5. @fullbloom02 of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
I wasn't much of a fan before I heard this CD, but I am now (though I am so not the intended demographic!). Great music, smart lyrics, and a lot of humor.
The only thing wrong with this record is that it ends too soon.
