Intriguing plot, worth reading!

rb3221 Dec 04, 2017

A German Jew, and a friend of Gemma, who fled Germany after WW II discovers a brooch in an auction house that her father made. After three murders and some long lost secrets, James and Kincaid track down the murder in a sting operation. It is a bit slow at the beginning until the back story unfolds. Also highlighted is Gemma's family, her sick mother, his somewhat stormy relationship with her father and Gemma comes to a big personal decision.
Worth reading but not my favorite Crombie novel.
