A little Terry Pratchett for me goes a long way. This live action version dilutes the whimsey to tolerable human levels, and is well-paced and thought out. Featuring a number of actors who made me happy to see again. Recommended for Douglas Adams fans and cynical teenagers, around Xmas time.

Not knowing what to expect ... this turned out to be a well thought out & FUN movie! Whether it's in the X-mas genre or fantasy, it was enjoyable.

a real Christmas classic. even if you've never seen any discworld movies before you should watch this one. Again, great performance by Death, and many interesting characters, including the wizards, Banjo, and Mr. Teatime (pronounced Te-A-TA-m-E).

Wise words from the Grim Reaper.

What a bummer. I love Terry Pratchett and Michelle Dockery and I was prepared to love this movie, but I couldn't make it past Part 1. Dull.

Really good adaptation of a great book. Really brought to life by great visuals, acting and humour. Even though it is labelled a family film i think it may be a little too dark and scary for younger audiences. I will agree with the comment on part 1 being a little better than part 2 but i loved it a lot.

Five stars for part 1 but only 3 stars for part 2. Part 2 had too many dull scenes that were rather long. Still, it is well worth watching.

I cannot imagine that the film adaptation could have been done better. As far as film adaptations go it was brilliant and, as I said, I don't see much room for improvement but it still fell short of the book somehow. I enjoyed it having read the book first. I'd recommend it in that order. Read the novel. Then watch the movie.

I agree with the other three commenters. This is an excellent adaption of a good book. I wish they'd make more of them (the Colour of Magic is the only other one I'm aware of, and it is good too).

An excellent telling of a great book. When Death is part of the family you never know what might happen next. Terry's cameo is a delight to watch

There were so many good ones it was just too hard to choose.
-"Stuff just happens, what the hell."
-"My name's Teatime. Jonathan Teatime. What's yours?"
-"...and this is Banjo." "Can it do tricks?" "He can pick up 2 men by the neck."
-"And in exhibit B, we have Banjo. He can do tricks!"
-"Our Mam said-" "Ah, to hell with your mam!"
-I'm the O Godly God of Hangovers."
-"Albert, just how much have you had to drink?" "1 million 800 thousand (something) glasses of cherry, 800 thousand (something) pork pies, and 1 turnip." "Well it looked pork pie shaped.."
