Another typically oddball movie from Darren Aronofsky who takes the biblical flood story of Noah and bends it into some interesting shapes. If you approach it as the director trying to reimagine the story as an universal flood myth set in a forgotten age of legends where the distance between men and God was much closer than in modern times, it may seem to make more sense that expecting a straight retelling of the Genesis story. It is a movie where some of the changes seems to work while others don't seem to make sense. The one flaw I had in the movie was the director in order to have "drama" onboard the boring seabound Ark resorted to Noah's misunderstanding God's instructions(bad cell reception) causing conflict with his family and the bigger showdown conflict with a dangerous stowaway. Neither of those last twists really work in the 3rd act of the movie but the movie is more ambitious than several new movies put together even with it's flaws.
