4 star read. The 20th book in Box's excellent Joe Pickett series was a very good read. Joe starts out helping in a rescue of a guide savaged by a grizzly bear, but is called back home to deal with the shooting of a judge's wife. Was the bullet meant for the judge, who had many enemies? Other local shootings might be connected. But when Joe's best friend Nate is targeted by the new zealous sheriff for the shooting, Joe has help from Mary Beth in trying to find the real shooter. This was a riveting and engaging read and shows that Box is at the top of his game.
