Another good book from Bantwal focusing on Indian women. Vinita gave birth to a son when she was 19 by C-section and was told he died. Everything was hushed up by her family and she moved on, married a man and moved to New Jersey. Many years later an anonymous letter arrives telling her that her son is alive and dying. As in all of her novels, cultural constraints on women and societal problems in India are not ignored but dealt with relatively lightly. There's always a happy ending.
