I am returning this book after reading only to Chapter 11, which is unusual for me. That is, I try and read a book all the way through even if I may not be enjoying it. However, I am really disappointed in the writing "dialogue", as I like to call it. It just seems so shallow and not very engaging, using more modern words that don't ring true, in my opinion, to the era. I may consider picking it up again, but having read a number of Follet's novels decades ago, I was left wondering if they were all written this way.
